Setting up your Altar

The first thing to do is to choose a space for your Altar and to find the direction you want to face. You can use your Feng Shui Kua number to find your best direction (holistic Pathways.) Its good idea to clean any accumulated unwanted objects away from your space. Once all the cleaning is done you can stand for a moment facing the area where your altar is to be placed. Take a minute to calm and centre your self. Now you can dedicate and define your space. You need to define your space away from your everydayness. This is the space where you will connect with the spirit. Some people prefer to clean the air around their sacred space by burning incense. Use a fan to fan the smoke into and around your sacred space. You can also use mist sprays for calming your area or a space clearing mist spray. Both these are available from Rainbow Crystal Essences.

Objects that you can place on your Altar are:

Candles
In Buddhism, candles are often placed in front of statues of the Buddha along with food or drink as a sign of respect. Symbolically they represent the light of the Buddha’s teaching and the enlightenment they added to the world symbolizes life and hope and the conquest of good over evil. The symbolic nature of a candle gives it significance in many of the world's major religions.

Personal Altars
An Altar is an important visual aid for meditation. It provides a focal point for your ritual.
The act of kneeling for prayer is  associated with humility and  homage to the purest form of energy.
An altar allows you to display objects of personal spiritual importance, reminders of your  ideals and values.

When you have completed setting up your Altar take a moment to sit or kneel before it.
Just let the tensions of the day flow away from you. Begin to relax by taking some deep breaths. Breathe down deep into your stomach. While you breathe in visualize breathing in golden energy. This is healing energy. As you breathe out visualize yourself expelling all pent up anxiety, negativity and stress.
Do this for as long as you need or until you feel relaxed then you are ready to meditate.
